Submission Guidelines

The Journal of Scientific and Technological Innovation (JSTI) welcomes submissions from students, educators, researchers, and practitioners in the fields of science, technology, innovation, engineering, applied research, interdisciplinary studies, and education-related innovation.

All manuscripts submitted to JSTI must be original, clearly written, ethically prepared, and aligned with the aims and scope of the journal. Authors are encouraged to read the following guidelines carefully before making a submission.

1. Before Submission

Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that:

• The manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
• The manuscript is not currently under review by another journal or publication platform.
• All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.
• All sources, data, figures, tables, images, and third-party materials are properly cited.
• Permission has been obtained for any copyrighted materials included in the manuscript.
• Any research involving human participants, surveys, interviews, personal data, or sensitive information has followed appropriate ethical standards.
• The manuscript is written in clear academic English and has been carefully proofread.

JSTI reserves the right to decline submissions that do not meet the journal’s minimum academic, ethical, formatting, or language standards.

Authors are encouraged to organize their manuscripts using the following structure:

• Title
• Author name(s) and affiliation(s)
• Abstract
• Keywords
• Introduction
• Literature Review or Background
• Methods / Project Design / Research Process

• Conclusion
• Acknowledgements, if applicable

The structure may be adjusted depending on the type of submission. However, the manuscript should remain logically organized and academically presented.

4. Title, Abstract, and Keywords

The title should be concise, informative, and clearly reflect the main focus of the manuscript.

The abstract should summarize the purpose, method, major findings, and contribution of the work. It should be able to stand alone and allow readers to understand the main value of the article.

Authors should provide 3 to 6 keywords that represent the main topics of the manuscript.

5. Formatting Requirements

Authors should prepare manuscripts according to the following general format:

• File format: Microsoft Word document preferred
• Language: English
• Font: Times New Roman or equivalent academic font
• Font size: 12 pt
• Line spacing: 1.5 or double spacing
• Margins: Standard margins
• Page numbers: Required
• Figures and tables: Numbered and titled clearly
• References: Consistent academic citation style

Figures, tables, charts, diagrams, and images should be placed near the relevant text where possible. Each figure or table should include a clear title and source, if applicable.

All sources used in the manuscript must be properly cited. Authors may use a recognized academic citation style, such as APA, MLA, Chicago, IEEE, or numbered reference style, as long as the format is consistent throughout the manuscript.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all references.

Examples of reference information may include:

• Author name(s)
• Year of publication
• Title of article, book, report, or webpage
• Journal or publisher name
• Volume, issue, and page numbers, if applicable
• DOI or URL, if applicable

7. Figures, Tables, and Supplementary Materials

Figures and tables should be used only when they help explain the research, data, process, or findings.

Authors must ensure that:

• Figures and tables are clear and readable.
• All figures and tables are numbered in order.
• Each figure and table has a descriptive title.
• Sources are provided when figures, images, or data are adapted from other materials.
• Permission has been obtained for any third-party copyrighted materials.

Supplementary materials may be submitted when they provide additional value, such as datasets, questionnaires, code, design images, extended tables, or project documentation.

8. Ethical Standards

Authors must follow proper ethical standards in research and publication.

Submissions must not include plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, inappropriate image manipulation, duplicate publication, or misleading authorship claims.

For studies involving human participants, interviews, surveys, minors, personal data, or school-based research, authors should ensure that appropriate consent, permission, and privacy protection measures have been followed.

JSTI may request additional clarification from authors when ethical issues are identified.

9. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

Authors should use artificial intelligence tools responsibly.

If AI tools are used for language editing, idea organization, coding support, data processing, image generation, or other substantial assistance, authors should disclose the nature and extent of AI use in the manuscript.

AI tools should not be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of the submitted work.

10. Review and Editorial Process

All submissions will first be reviewed by the editorial team to determine whether the manuscript fits the aims and scope of JSTI and meets the basic submission requirements.

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening may be sent for peer review or editorial review. Based on the review results, the manuscript may be:

• Accepted
• Accepted with minor revisions
• Invited for major revisions
• Rejected

The editorial team may desk reject a submission if it is outside the journal’s scope, lacks sufficient academic quality, contains serious ethical concerns, or does not meet basic formatting and language standards.

11. Revision

If revisions are requested, authors should respond carefully to the comments provided by editors or reviewers.

Authors may be asked to submit:

• A revised manuscript
• A response letter explaining how comments were addressed
• Additional information, data, permission, or clarification, if needed

Revised manuscripts should be submitted within the timeline provided by the editorial office.

Authors should submit manuscripts through the JSTI online submission system.

New authors are required to register an account before making a submission. Returning authors may log in to their existing account to submit or track manuscripts.

During submission, authors may be asked to provide:

• Manuscript title
• Author information
• Abstract
• Keywords
• Manuscript file
• Supplementary files, if applicable
• Confirmation of originality and ethical compliance

Authors should ensure that all submitted information is accurate and complete.

13. Publication Fees

JSTI may apply an Article Processing Charge or publication fee according to the journal’s current fee policy.

Authors should refer to the journal’s Article Processing Charges and Publication Fees page for the latest information regarding applicable fees, reduced fees, partner institution arrangements, and optional printed copies or reprints.

Payment of any applicable fee does not guarantee acceptance. All submissions remain subject to editorial assessment and review.

14. Copyright and Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for the content of their submitted manuscripts.

By submitting to JSTI, authors confirm that:

• The work is original.
• The authors have the right to submit and publish the work.
• All co-authors have agreed to the submission.
• Proper credit has been given to all sources and contributors.
• The manuscript does not infringe the rights of others.

Authors retain responsibility for the accuracy of statements, data, results, and references included in their work.

15. Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy

The Journal of Scientific and Technological Innovation (JSTI) is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published academic content. All published articles are made available through the journal’s official website and are maintained with article metadata, publication records, and full-text access where applicable.

JSTI preserves digital copies of published articles and associated metadata for editorial, indexing, citation, and archival purposes. The journal aims to ensure that published content remains accessible in the event of website updates, platform migration, or technical changes.

JSTI recognizes the importance of trusted preservation systems such as LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and the PKP Preservation Network. As the journal develops its publishing infrastructure, JSTI will work toward participation in suitable long-term digital preservation services, subject to technical eligibility and platform requirements.

16. Author Self-Archiving

Authors are permitted to archive the published version of their JSTI articles in personal websites, institutional repositories, academic profile pages, or non-commercial research repositories, provided that proper citation and a link to the official published version are included.

JSTI will continue to review and improve its archiving arrangements to support the long-term availability, credibility, and integrity of its published content.
