Correction, Withdrawal and Retraction Policy
The Journal of Scientific and Technological Innovation (JSTI) is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of the academic record. The journal follows responsible editorial practices when handling requests or concerns related to article correction, withdrawal, or retraction.
1. Corrections
A correction may be issued when a published article contains an error that does not invalidate the overall findings, conclusions, or academic contribution of the work.
Corrections may include, but are not limited to:
- Errors in author information or affiliation
- Minor factual, typographical, formatting, or reference errors
- Errors in tables, figures, or supplementary materials
- Clarification of statements that may otherwise cause misunderstanding
When a correction is required, JSTI will publish a formal correction notice linked to the original article. The original article may also be updated with a clear note indicating that a correction has been made.
2. Retractions
A retraction may be issued when a published article is found to contain serious problems that affect the validity, originality, ethical compliance, or reliability of the work.
Reasons for retraction may include, but are not limited to:
- Plagiarism or substantial unattributed use of another person's work
- Fabricated, falsified, or unreliable data
- Serious errors that invalidate the findings or conclusions
- Duplicate or redundant publication
- Unethical research practices
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest that may affect the interpretation of the work
- Authorship disputes that cannot be resolved after publication
- Use of AI-generated content in a way that violates the journal's authorship, originality, or disclosure requirements
When an article is retracted, JSTI will publish a retraction notice explaining the reason for the retraction. The original article will remain accessible where appropriate, but it will be clearly marked as retracted in order to preserve the scholarly record.
3. Article Withdrawal
Article withdrawal applies to manuscripts that have been submitted but have not yet been formally published.
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before final acceptance or publication. Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing to the Editorial Office and must include the manuscript title, author names, submission date, and reason for withdrawal.
After a manuscript has been accepted or entered the final production stage, withdrawal may not be approved unless there is a valid reason, such as a serious authorship issue, ethical concern, duplicate submission, or major error discovered before publication.
4. Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for promptly notifying JSTI if they discover significant errors, ethical concerns, authorship issues, or problems with data accuracy in their submitted or published work.
Authors are expected to cooperate with the Editorial Office during any investigation related to correction, withdrawal, or retraction.
5. Editorial Review Process
All correction, withdrawal, and retraction requests will be reviewed by the Editorial Office. When necessary, JSTI may consult reviewers, editorial board members, institutional representatives, or relevant academic experts before making a final decision.
The decision to issue a correction, approve a withdrawal, or retract an article rests with the Editorial Office and the Editor-in-Chief.
6. Transparency and Record Keeping
JSTI aims to handle all correction, withdrawal, and retraction matters in a fair, transparent, and timely manner. Notices of correction or retraction will be clearly identified and linked to the original article whenever possible.
The purpose of this policy is not to punish authors, but to protect the accuracy, credibility, and integrity of the academic record.
